How we work
Real problems. Practical fixes. Occasionally clever ones.
Here's what we actually do for teams, from quick wins to bigger builds. If you see your situation somewhere in here, that's the idea.
Who we work with
The teams we know best
-
A small team of creative people. Constant demand from across the business. An ever-growing list of formats to produce. We help these teams set up properly, work faster, and produce consistently, without burning out the people doing it.
-
Communications teams with high output requirements, strict brand standards, and limited internal resource. We build the systems, templates, and workflows that make consistent, on-brand production possible without a large team.
-
Product catalogues, seasonal campaigns, always-on social. The volume is relentless and the brief is always "same thing, slightly different." We build the systems that make that manageable.
-
We still work with agencies and studios, particularly on scaling production capacity or fixing workflow problems that have grown faster than the team.
Common problems we solve
Specific Examples
What this looks like
A few examples of the kind of work each tier covers.
Available as one off or ongoing support.
-
Auditing a small team's week and removing the manual steps quietly eating into it
Locked templates a non-designer can update and export in minutes, not hours
Shared project, colour and export presets set up across an editing team
A recurring piece of work, like a newsletter, rebuilt to take a fraction of the time
A simple design system for campaign materials, master pages and export presets included
A short session on faster editing that hands a team back most of its revision time
-
Mapping a team's workflow, finding the redundant steps, rebuilding around fewer
Connecting project management and accounting so a job gets set up once, not three times
A custom panel that turns a repetitive layout task into one click
Brand guidelines the whole team can apply, not just the design lead
Helping a team hire and onboard a junior creative who's productive fast
-
A system that turns one approved template into hundreds of variations, across SKUs, markets and specs
Turning a single design into a full asset set: posters, banners, social and email
Using AI image generation to compress concept-to-approval time
A brief-in, deliverables-out pipeline, with human decisions kept at the points that matter
Restructuring a comms team: defining the roles, hiring into them, setting up the tools, training everyone
Western SYdney Startup Hub and Spacecubed
Western Sydney Startup Hub is a thriving co-working space located in the picturesque historical sandstone buildings of North Parramatta.
They needed an easily updatable but professional video to promote their wide range of events. Orbi Labs created bespoke animations and mixed them with assets that the internal team could quickly update on a regular basis.
Resulting in a monthly update, rather than using a 2 year old video.
Allied Risk Solutions
Allied needed a suite of assets across internal templates, external collateral material and video to sell their wide range of expertise across training, compliance and security in the entertainment and retail sectors.
Working with their internal team, and selected external suppliers Orbi Labs provided assets, templates and guidance on the different aspects of their needs.
Orbi Labs engagement covered creative, production, workflow improvements, consulting and marketing support.
Kinemat
Kinemat is a Celux and Orbi Labs niche app designed to help real estate agents easily create videos from their listings for socials and website. It takes information from existing sources to avoid double handling.
Orbi Labs created the video engine and marketing collateral.
A combination of production and workflow that could be applied to internal processes.
